Featured: Hot Air Balloon Clock

Decoylab's Hot Air Balloon Clock has been featured in April issue of Pregnancy & Newborn magazine! I'm pleased to see that the clock fits right into their beautiful assortments of furniture, rugs and other decors. I've been seeing lots of gold and brass featured in the interior trend overall, or the bold use of black & white just like that rug! Seafoam or pale green blue has been my all time favorite color so I'm have to see that used a lot and I'm really loving that crib! Not that we need a crib for our house.. but I love how the color is used only at the feet and the rest is natural wood.

Running a Business from Home Again

This year is my 9th year since I started making clocks. A lot has happened over the past years and I am thankful for each and everyone of my customers who have purchased the clocks I’ve made. Never had I imagined that I would be selling clocks for a living and I certainly had no idea I would be doing this for almost 10 years. This year, I've decided to move my studio back to my home. Newly added to our shop

I'm excited to share two new clock designs this year. One is Dino clock and the other is Cat clock. They both are a bit larger than my standard size, they come in 9x12 inches. I'm always interested in designing that is sweet but not too sweet. Cute but somehow elegant design. It's a challenge to get the forms right to create the right vibe. I'm pleased with both. They are simple, modern and cute but not too cute. I love the warmth of wood material and it works great with white or painted wall. I hope you like these as much as I do.

It's been a long time...

I have been terribly inconsistent with blog and social media. It ends up being the first thing for me to ditch when I get busy! I wish I can find some sort of balance to be able to do a little bit of everything without driving myself mad.  We've been busy with non-business related things. We've changed residence just recently, but we've been planning and working for this since the beginning of this year. Or maybe it was late last year. At any rate, it was one of the biggest projects to tackle and required both physical and mental endurance and a great deal of patience. (Which is difficult for an impatient person like me.) Sadly, new products that are ready to be...

Maker Faire KC 2015

It's official! We are attending Maker Faire here in Kansas City at the end of June. (June 27 & 28, 2015 at Union Station) I love people from different backgrounds coming together and sharing their creativity and passions for making things. It's not my usual audience per se but I definitely feel like I share the same spirit! Oh and yes if you live in KC, this is the place I'll have more Western Auto Signage Kits. Hope to see you there!
